The week of 12 March...

Two glass inductions this past week in cutting and fusing (photo below), and another on the glass kilns. One more glass induction yet to do on lampwork. In  the  glass workshop  I collected a box of recycled clear glass shards, some of which I inserted into two new pots made of different recycled clays. So that the glass doesn't melt onto the kiln shelves I made a shallow slab box in  which to fire them.

I am very keen to find a way to combine different recycled materials, and was pleased to also scavenge some recycled steel from the metal workshop.

In my continuing fascination with wrapping recycled thread I mounted one on a tall brass wire.

Below are sample tiles on recycled ivory stoneware clay with pots that emerged from multiple firings.

I also had a one-to-one advanced glaze induction with ever patient and always brilliant Rudi, the ceramics technician, and I made a new speckled blue glaze I'll trial this coming week on ivory stoneware.

The  pot below is still lacking and in process...
